Extracted from quinoa seeds, Hydrolyzed Quinoa is a natural, complete protein, used in cosmetics for its hair care benefits. The Hydrolyzed Quinoa extract is a clear to slightly hazy liquid that nourishes and conditions hair and offers protection against environmental and styling damage. Great vegan alternative to silk proteins and a wonderful addition to hair & skincare formulations. A little goes a long way, and very competitive pricing! I’ve been enjoying adding this at 1% to my CP recipes as well. It’s a rich amber color, but won’t affect the color of your products. From the bottle, the scent reminds me of molasses, which I find delightful! It’s a mild scent, so that won’t affect your products either, especially if you’re incorporating EO or FO. In CP formulations, I add this to the liquid which will become my lye solution. In reaction to lye, this will emit an ammonia-type odor which is hard to miss, but is temporary & won’t affect the scent of your finished product at all. I’m very happy with this hydrolyzed quinoa protein and would recommend it for a number of uses and applications!

This is my favorite additive to my solid shampoo bars. Love the end result.

I use this in the place of silk protein in my conditioner bars since the majority of my products are vegan. It works like a dream!
